TERRITORY RESTRICTED COMICS / INTERNATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

We have been seeing  a growing list of comic titles that are not able to be sent via the usual comic distribution system to New Zealand.  This happens when publishers have only purchased (or have only been granted) a license to produce comics to be sold in a North American or specific international territory that does not include NZ.

The list includes all of the Dark Horse published all-ages Star Wars titles and Dynamite's Disney comics - including the popular Gargoyles series. Licensed comics with limited territory distribution is not a new thing - what has changed is the enforcement of these restrictions and our ability to wiggle round them.

The Good News : We have found a new way of sourcing these titles

The Bad News : This method won't work for orders placed outside of the current Preorder catalogue  - meaning the order deadline for these issues is not the advertised Final Orders Due date but the much earlier Catalogue end of month deadline two months before shipping.   To keep things simple we can only supply the cover As of the releases - sorry no variants or special covers.

Going Forward:   At present time territory restricted titles can't be easily identified within the publisher data files so we can't filter these titles out of the MANAGE COMICS listings that populate our PREORDER section.  When a customer orders a territory restricted title we will advise them and link them to this page by way of explanation.  We will be able to indicate the chance of success at that time.

Our territory restricted titles will ship separately to our regular shipments and will arrive in one single monthly batch.  EG. All titles releasing in July will arrive in one single shipment in mid or late August.  

MK1 will not be ordering any territory restricted titles for shelf or website sale - we will only be ordering enough copies to cover preorders placed within order deadlines (not the weekly  Final Order Cut off deadline but the current monthly catalogue deadline - see above).
